We are heading into the colder months of the year. That means a lot of us will be bundling up as much as we need to in order to stay comfortable. But there are always those among us who just do not have the means to stay warm. Luckily, many of us are cleaning out our coat closets and are ready to replace them with the latest styles. Good In Deed has the answer, donate jackets, scarves, hats and blankets for the 2020 cold season. There are so many people in need of warmth, and you can donate jackets you do not plan on using anymore to help get things started.
We are now able to accept gently used items as well. They must be washed before donating but this is great news. Post has been updated to reflect this change.
Donate Jackets, Scarves, Hats and Blankets – Oh My
There are many ways we try and keep warm when we need to go out into the cold. We wear jackets and coats, hats and scarves, and hold onto the warmth they provide. However, we take those items for granted sometimes. We reach for these things without a second thought and head out for the day or night. But there are some people who just cannot reach for those things and who are always outside in the cold. That is why Good In Deed hosts an annual coat drive.
Many of the drives hosted by Good In Deed go toward local organizations and local communities in need. In fact, there were approximately 7,000 people who qualified as homeless in Orange County at the end of 2019. However, recent events have only made that number increase, drastically. Approximately 3,961 of those people were not able to be in a shelter, meaning they were left out in the cold. There was a bit of relief recently due to the current state of the country. However, those efforts are also ending here soon. Which means people will be back on the streets and unable to stay warm indoors.
What to Donate
Good In Deed is looking for your help. Specifically, we are asking people to donate jackets, scarves, hats, and blankets. You can donate new or gently used and washed jackets, scarves, hats, and blankets of any size. There are people of all ages who are in need. You can make things easier by picking up an extra coat or jacket when you head out to buy your new winter clothes or grab one as you shop for other items.
How to Donate Jackets
Good In Deed makes it quite easy to donate jackets. You can email Good In Deed at DoGood@GoodInDeed.com. We can schedule a pickup, a drop off, or even set you up as a drop off location through email. All the details will be worked out and your donation can be on its way to making a difference for a son, a daughter, a mother, or a father. Your donations can help the local community take care of itself. This drive is open from Now until the end of December 2020.
