Parents learned that the work teachers do is not easy and deserves our appreciation. Teachers help shape the future of the world in ways that is not always noticeable at first. But they enlighten our children, prepare them for their futures, and to lead the way into new ways of life for us all.

But they also help watch our children, raise our children, and allow us to keep our day jobs without paying for daycare or sitters. These are things we may not have noticed before, but we certainly do now.

Dana Hills High School Students Know

Good deed boxes welcome teachers and staff back to school thanks to the help of the students. Students recognized just how much teachers and staff have been through this year. Some parents may think their teens aren’t paying attention, but they absolutely are watching everything.

They have seen what teachers went through, they recognize how tough it has been and wanted to help. That is why students came together and filled Giving Boxes for teachers. In fact, 160 teachers and staff members received a Giving Box on day 1 of school.

This was all thanks to the Juniors Alex Duffield, Talia Topalian, and Josh Mann. These students filled the boxes with things like gift cards, masks, hand wipes, snacks, and lotions. The students said it was all to show their appreciation for what the teachers have done to keep the school up and running during the pandemic that continues.
