Good In Deed is more than a charitable organization, it has become a community. There are community members from all walks of life and many of us have bonded together. We all take as many opportunities as possible to make a difference and it has shown. We have seen fundraisers, food drives, clothing drives, book drives, and so much more. We ask so much of our community in an effort to make a difference for those in need. That is why we are so humbled and honored by the actions of one of Good In Deed’s Advisory Board members, Svetlana. It involves a birthday fundraiser and a random act of kindness that we are very grateful for. 

A birthday fundraiser is a great way to make a difference and we are more than grateful for a special fundraiser hosted by a Good In Deed member.

Good In Deed has an advisory board. The members of the board help organize fundraisers, help keep track of donations, and some even offer up their homes as donation drop-off locations. Svetlana is one of those board members who has been working with us to make as many differences as we can. We ask our board members to help in many ways and Svetlana has taken many opportunities to do good. We appreciate every single one of our board members. The work they do behind the scenes is impressive and inspiring to everyone at Good In Deed. 

The Birthday

Recently, Svetlana celebrated her birthday. However, Svetlana is a true do-gooder who takes every chance to make a difference. That is why she spent her birthday doing good. But there was even more to the story that we are truly grateful for. Svetlana asked for only one thing this year of her family and friends. Instead of asking for gifts for herself or for things she needed, she asked for donations to Good In Deed. Svetlana posted on her Facebook account that she would like family and friends to donate any amount of money to Good In Deed through a fundraiser. 

Random Act of Kindness

Svetlana’s birthday fundraiser was completely unexpected. She took it upon herself to do this random act of kindness. This is not something we ask for, though we do have ways of donating to Good In Deed. But this random act of kindness has inspired us all. We want to take this chance to thank Svetlana for her hard work with Good In Deed, the birthday fundraiser, and everything she does for her community. The fundraiser raised almost $500! What an amazing result from one of our very own community members. Thank you Svetlana, you are a true inspiration in a community filled with inspiring people.
