The goals of the Good In Deed® community are very simple. We strive to reach out and lend a helping hand to those in need. Opportunities arise almost daily, and as part of the Good In Deed® community, you are given the chance to be an agent for change. Through drives and fundraisers to random acts of kindness, we always make sure to do our part in making the world a better place to live. Not only for those in need but for the next generation. By setting examples every day, we as citizens in the Good In Deed® community are helping to ensure kindness and empathy prevail. It’s important for members of our community to see what all their hard work has done, and what type of difference they make every day.

MotelChurch is an all-volunteer organization that plants churches in rundown weekly motels to bring hope to the people living there. Every weekend people living in those motels come to the parking lot where MotelChurch volunteers provide a warm breakfast, encouragement and friendship. We first heard about Good In Deed from one of our volunteers who was familiar with their work. After a few emails with Kelly and Amy it was obvious that they and the Good In Deed organization were pretty amazing. We asked for their help in producing our annual Thanksgiving brunch, which brings a wonderful Thanksgiving feast to people living in motels around Southern California. Our goal was 70 turkeys, which would allow us to serve all of the motels where we served. Good In Deed graciously sent out a wonderful email to their donors and within a week or two we were blown away – they had hit the goal. When we received the checks we could only marvel at the gift they were providing to the homeless and working poor people struggling to survive in small motel rooms. Having a regular meal on any day is a blessing for so many people. But, getting a full-blown Thanksgiving meal with roast turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, veggies and even pumpkin pie – well, for many people they suddenly felt like they were no longer stranded in a motel with strangers, they were home among family. Thanks to Kelly, Amy, Good In Deed, and their many donors who gave so selflessly so that the less fortunate among us could have a great Thanksgiving! You are living examples that we are not supposed to just say that we care about others, we are supposed to do something about it.

Good In Deed® Event: Project Hope Alliance Holiday Drive / December 2015
Drive Goal: Underwrite gifts for children
Drive Outcome: Over $1,500 for underwriting Christmas gifts
Testimonials: Project Hope Alliance is ending the cycle of homelessness, one child at a time, right here in Orange County. Kelly contacted us in August of 2015 to ask how she could help. At the time we were launching a new pilot program for our kids called Bright Start, and were in need of art supplies for 19 of our volunteer mentors to use in mentoring our children. Her response was, “Would you accept a check to go towards these needs?” and “When would you like it?” This response was amazing for me to hear! Then in November, she contacted us again to inquire what kind of funding we might need for our holiday events. We throw a Cookies with Santa party for the families we serve where Santa comes to read a story and pass out gifts for each child. Kelly not only provided the funding for all of the gifts, she surpassed the goal. At every turn, Kelly has been able to meet our needs with an enthusiasm and dedication of which every non-profit dreams. She has quickly become an ardent supporter of Project Hope Alliance and continues to further our mission through her hard work.

The mission of Friends of the Ladera Ranch Library is to maintain an association of persons interested in books and libraries; to focus attention on library services, facilities, and needs; and to encourage donations and gifts of books. It is this donation of books that supplies our gently used bookstore within the library. It is the monies collected at this bookstore that is used exclusively for the library and the many projects the library undertakes that are not funded by the Orange County Public Library System. Our largest project being the Summer Reading Program.
When Kelly contacted us and wanted Good In Deed® to hold a book drive, we had no idea how amazingly our community would respond! We now have an additional 2300 books to sell in our bookstore! Not only does that support our mission to help fund programs but the books now available to our community keeps our children reading!

Good In Deed® Drive: Infant Through Teen Drive/ September 2018
Drive Goal: Collect gently used clothes for all seasons for children from infants to teens.
Drive Outcome: This Good In Deed® drive was one of the most open drives we have hosted. Instead of having guidelines of what to donate, we opened the possibilities to any type of clothes, shoes, jackets, and more. The only guideline was that the items needed to fit people between the age of infant to teen. We gathered a whopping 130 bags filled with donations. Way to make a difference Good In Deed® community!
Good In Deed® Drive: Winter Clothing Drive/January 2019
Drive Goal: Collect gently used or new winter clothing for all ages
Drive Outcome: The Good In Deed® community has done it again with the first drive of 2019! Together, we collected over 75 large bags of winter clothing to donate. The donations, once collected, made it’s way to the Illumination Foundation. The Illumination Foundation then made sure that the winter clothing made a difference and it is all thanks to the Good In Deed® community.
Good In Deed® Drive: Toiletries Drive July 2019
Drive Goal: Collect new toiletries to donate to Rising Tide
Drive Outcome: The Good In Deed® community really came together for this drive and we are so happy with the outcome. Together, we collected a total of 41 large kitchen bags filled with toiletries. All of the donations were delivered to Rising Tide at the Orangewood Foundation. Thank you so much for your amazing hard work.
Good In Deed® Drive: Books and Board Games Drive September 2019
Drive Goal: Collect new or gently used books and board games to donate to local libraries
Drive Outcome: The Good In Deed® community never disappoints. Once again, your donations have been received and we have collected 1,514 books and 97 board games! The donations collected have been distributed to local libraries including Mission Viejo Library, Ladera Ranch Library, and the Vietnam Veterans of America. As always, thank you all for your hard work and determination to do as much as good as possible in the world around us.
Good In Deed® Drive: Winter Clothing Drive 2019
Drive Goal: Collect new or gently used winter clothing of all sizes to donate.
Drive Outcome: We have once again done an amazing job. Everyone donated enough to fill 141 kitchen-sized bags with winter clothing! Those bags were then distributed to Saddleback Church Rancho Capistrano, Vietnam Veterans of America, and Family Assisted Ministries. Great work everyone!

Drive Outcome: 2020 has been a rough year for us all. Even donating items became more difficult as used goods weren’t acceptable early on. Luckily, things changed and the Good In Deed community gathered quickly to make up for the loss of time. We collected 110 large bags filled with clothing to donate to those in need. Keep up the amazing work!
